Buahaha! Because you know I'm lame that way.

It's funny to see Kris Allen so shy about taking his shirt off in public and in the other video, so afraid to touch a snake, after being such a rockstar in KL.

LOL, at the Kris laughing gif. I seriously need to find something better to do.

Still Chasing Pavements

I just realized how important it is to have a blog or a journal.. or maybe even a diary. Without one, we could always easily forget what we've felt or what we've experienced. We may think, that if it's an important memory, we'd remember it. But sometimes, it's the most important ones we tend to forget. I'm so thankful that I decided on making this blog.

It's nice to look through old posts and reminisce the things that went through our mind when we wrote them. There will never be an 8th February 2010 ever again, and I'll never be able to experience the exact same thing I did yesterday at that concert. Thanks to keeping a blog, and photos, those memories will be part of me forever :)

So, here's to keeping old thoughts! Cheers.

I smell raspberry filled, Dunkin' Doughnuts

This post is about my trip to see a Kris Allen.

So, I'm back from school, and the entire concert last night has finally sunk in as a memory. So I warn you, this post is going to be long - it's my first concert, so I'll be explaining things from head to toe. But before the whole elaboration begins, I'd just like to say this here: the Saints won the Superbowl. I'm not a football fan, but hey, it's the Superbowl and it needs to be mentioned.

Ok, so here goes nothing. My first ever experience to a concert:

Mon, 08/02/10

I went with Ann Gie, Alia and Haida. It didn't take too long before we were allowed to enter the hall. It was air conditioned, but I already had begun sweating even before Kris came up on stage. It took nearly half an hour for JJ and Ean to "warm up" the stage. It was boring, and we all chanted for Kris. Obviously, who wants two radio dj's when we can see KRIS FREAKING ALLEN.

Kris came up on stage, everybody screamed like mad, myself included of course. Kris opened the show with a mash-up of Heartless and Gangsta's Paradise. My predictions exactly. People sang along to heartless but when it came to Gangsta's Paradise they all were like, wuut? I think I stood at the wrong side of the crowd - I was amongst elderly people who were not true Kris fans.

He then sang Can't Stay Away, Red Guitar, The Truth, Live Like We're Dying, and Alright With Me, before he went off stage, where we called him back for an encore. He did come back, singing Is it Over (irony, much) and last but not least, his encore, Come Together.

I remembered screaming a whole lot when Kris sang Is it Over, yelling Cale's name, hoping I'd get a glance. Too bad, I ain't got a loud voice. But heck, I do have a loud enough voice to have neighboring invites close their ears and give funny looks. I don't know what they're expecting though - we are at a Kris Allen concert slash showcase, thingie.

In fact, throughout the night, I got many strange and cold looks by the people. Not the whole crowd, of course, just the people I was standing around. I tell you, they were not true Kris fans at all. I wouldn't be surprised if they had only come to hear him sing Idol songs or the only one song that they knew was from his album - Live Like We're Dying. Lame-ohs.

At the beginning there was a short video, containing clips of Kris' idol journey. There was a hug between Kris and Adam in clip, so yes, I obviously yelled kradam, and now, the lame people were beginning to give me very cold side glances. I also got lots of those during Alright With Me, because I was standing on the fence like a mad man, singing and clapping along. I don't know what it is they were expecting - especially this one elderly lady who scolded Ann Gie because there were kids in front. Like what the literal crap, man? A Kris Allen showcase isn't a live Barney show, where we all get cushions under out butts.

And being in that lame crowd, by the right hand corner of the room, I was the only one who sang along to the songs, because they didn't know any of the lyrics. I felt like such a fish out of water. I did feel at home though, when someone pulled up a sign saying "ONTD AI" and "14 Plums Durians" and "I'm a lil punk who's gonna steal your gay." Ahh, fellow homies they were.

The whole thing was so surreal. I'm still amazed that I am able to speak today, what with all that shouting last night. My legs and throat were sore when I woke up, but now it's as if I held my tongue and stayed still all night, last night. One of my favourite parts was when Kris saw a balloon being bounced around the audience and was all, "Ooh, a balloon." It's crazy how real the boy is.

When he came up on stage, I was just so shocked. I mean, he was a real human being. I've been seeing him in 2D for so long, I almost thought he was a figment of my imagination - you know, since he was so perfect. What I found out though, was, that Kris Allen is nowhere near petite sized. Ok, yes, I'm exaggerating, but he isn't very small or pockety in real life - he's pretty darn big.

He was short, yes, but he was big. I mean his arms, those were real man arms. Compared to us, unhealthy, lack of protein-ed, Malaysians, he was big. I guess I think he's so big because I had always expected him to be like a little pocket. Jeepers, imagine if I saw Adam Lambert. Lol :)

Best moment of the night, was of course, the encore. Come together is what he sang. It was beautiful. When I said that he butchered the song in Manilla, he did it amazingly here. And I guess I was overreacting, saying that he "butchered" it. It's just that a song like that doesn't need perfect vocals - it needs artistry. Which is exactly what Kris did that night. He sounded so Beatles-ish. I especially love how he opened the song, making sound effects. I swooned like never before when he did that.

In fact, Kristopher surfed the crowd for a few seconds. Man, if those "Kris is boring and easily overlooked" haters would see this. Kris Allen is not boring - he is a freaking rockstar! #KrisAllenRockstar

Too bad I wasn't able to touch him. I was barred behind gates of steel, which I stood on, like a mad monkey. I would be said completely perasan if I were to say he saw me, but he must have saw some crazy fool in my direction that night, because when he did, he laughed that hearty wide opened laugh he did during the US Weekly questionnaire with Adam Lambert, concerning which bunk Kris would take, where Adam answers an easily misunderstood "I like the top!" I guess it's just me being hopeful, but you never know.

On how Kris looked that night, well, that I can explain to fine detail, because I stood on the tips of my toes to make sure I wouldn't lose even a millisecond of his beautiful face:

His hair, firstly, was extremely hazel. His light, soft brown locks, pushed up in a handsomely sweaty semi-pompadour. He was wearing a familiar grey, long sleeved button up, which he actually wore rather button-less, with a white undershirt underneath. He had that button up of his rolled up to his elbows, which, later rolled its way back down to his wrist by then end of the concert. Fret not, because Kris has mad skillz - he rolled it back up in less than a second. It's possible that people wouldn't have even noticed it ever falling in the first place.

His jeans, were sadly, out of eye sight. People's heads were blocking so I couldn't take even a glimpse at how they looked :( I think they were blue, though. I really wanted to see his shoes, and his kicky feet. Awwhh, what an experience I could talk about then. If only I was able to see. And oh yeah, his skin. His skin was so fair and so perfectly smooth. Seriously, it's flawless! And he shaved - sort of. He still had a bit of a mustache going on, but no scruff on the bottom. Beautiful man he is.

We came back that night at around midnight, and I slept at 1am, knowing that I'd still have to go to school tomorrow. Sigh. So yeah, that's how my first concert went. It was loud and it was krazy, and I wish I could go back in time to experience it again, but I can't. I'd love for Kris to come back again sometime soon.

I love you K-Sizzle! Kick awesome as always. And of course, cool points for him to surf the crowd like that. Again, #KrisAllenRockstar. If you have a twitter, trend it.

Pictures are on the post below. Ngeeehaw!

8th February 2010, Monday

KRIS ALLEN IS REAL. HE IS LIVING, BREATHING, REAL HUMAN BEING. WHATEVERGRAMMAR OMG I DONT CARE, HE IS REAL :)

When the clock strikes

It has finally hit me - I'm going to see Kristopher Neil Allen tonight. Oh my gosh. Not in person or whatever, but I'm still going to see him live. He's going to be there, breathing the same air as me, singing, dancing, whatever, oh my gosh, it's surreal. All this while I've only seen him in pictures or on the telly, in 2D form.. now. My gosh, I'm going to be in the same room with Kris Allen, and another 699 people, but they don't matter!

OMG, tonight, I'm going to see THIS:

GOLLY MOTHER FREAKING COW SENT FROM THE HELLS BENEATH MY FEET.

I think I have to take a cold shower and let it all sink in. Yeah. And pinch myself another twenty times or so. Life is good. For now :)

I'm jynxed, obviously

Why is that when I mention Kris' raw vocals when he preforms live, I end up watching a video of him butchering his own cover of the Beatles' Come Together. I sure hope he wont do this tomorrow. Anyway, Kris just rolled in to Malaysia a half-past ago. I bet he'll be up early tomorrow morning, watching the Superbowl. I'm cheering for the Colts, because I was born in Indiana. Whooo.

It's the elephant in the room

Ok, so it's decided - I'm going with Ann Gie, Alia and Haida for Kris Allen's showcase. Joy.

I still feel rather frustrated at the fact that I have to bring my younger sister along. The thought of Haida tagging along gives me flashbacks of Amy wanting to follow Jo and Laurie ice-skate, in the Little Women. I guess that's why, as much as I'm against it, am still letting Haida come, for I'm afraid karma will attack the both of us and Haida will crash into the ice. I wouldn't have Laurie to help me if that were to happen, god forbid.

I guess I can live though. Sigh.

On the flip side, though, at least I can meet Hui Cui there, whom which I have not seen in a very long time, and at least I'll have Ann Gie with me so I wouldn't be disturbed as much by the child's presence, and at least I get to see my bb Kris Allen play his music live.

Ah yes, Kris Allen playing his music live. That's what I really desperately wanted those tickets for.

I know where Kris' talents lie, and it lies there, when his voice is raw and natural. From all the songs I've heard Kris sing, his bests were live. Kris may not have the wide vocal range as Adam, but there's just something in voice that's warm and.. well.. human. In his voice, there's emotion and there's soul - it's something for you to feel inside, not just for you to listen to with your ears! I love that the most, when it comes to Kris Allen.

You'd think I'm a krazy Kris fan only because he's a smokin', right? Well by all means, you're wrong. Him being extremely gorgeous is a plus, but his cool and humble personality as a person, and the way he plays his music; not for the ratings, not for the headlines or for the fame, but for what it really is, is what makes me love him.

That's why I don't really care about meet and greets or getting his autograph or having him shake my hand or whatever. Kris Allen, although beautiful, and although famous, he's just an ordinary dude. I mean, I would love to meet him, for he seems like a very cool guy (and he's hot!), but if I'm forced to meet him as a fan, and he as the higher being, where, in the eyes of others, would seem like we're worshiping him, then no, I'd rather not meet Kris Allen at all.

I guess that doesn't make me a big enough fan, huh?

Anyways, now you know the truth - I'm not crazy, and I have a good reason for not wanting to go for the meet and greet. Besides, I wouldn't spend RM40 for an album that I can just download off the internet for no charge at all. Does that make me a bad person? Well, yes, kind of, but it's not my fault I can't buy my songs off of iTunes in Malaysia. If there's anyone to blame, it's Apple, for being such a country-ist (like racist, but with countries).

Thinking of it all now, what with the showcase being tomorrow, it all seems strange. and cool. I can only thank one, for giving me the chance to see my musical idol live tomorrow. No, it's not Hitz, no, it's not the physics law of attraction, and no, it's not luck. It's Allah, alhamdulillah :)
